The H2020 DTOceanPlus project is developing an integrated suite of design tools for ocean energy technologies, including sub-systems, energy capture devices and arrays. The software tools will improve system design and evaluation process taking into account the energy yield, lifetime cost, reliability and socioeconomic impacts.
The tools will support the entire technology innovation process from concept through to development and deployment.

This article published on EU CORDIS portal with an interview of Pablo Ruiz-Minguela from TECNALIA Offshore Renewable Energy, coordinator of  DTOceanPlus, highlights the real added value of the future software suite compared to the existing offer.

DTOceanPlus, which stands for Advanced Design Tools for Ocean Energy Systems Innovation, Development and Deployment, represents a collaborative work between 16 partners from 7 EU countries with the collaboration of 2 leading research laboratories from the USA: TECNALIA Offshore Renewable Energy, The University of Edinburgh, Energy Systems Catapult, Wave Energy Scotland, France Energies Marines, WavEC – Offshore Renewables, Aalborg University, Enel Green Power, Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, Nova Innovation Ltd, CorPower Ocean, Open Cascade, Orbital Marine Power Ltd, IDOM, EDP Centre for New Energy Technologies, SABELLA, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories.
