Dr. Víctor Petuya

Víctor Petuya received in 2003 the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU.
From 1995 to 1998 he was involved as design engineer of a private engineering firm, SENER Aerospace, in several aerospace projects.
Since 2007, he is Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (UPV/EHU). Since 2015 he is accredited as Full Professor. His research interests are advanced mechanical design and analysis, computational kinematics of planar and spatial mechanisms, particularly parallel manipulators, and biokinematics.
Currently he is Chairman of the IFToMM Technical Committee for Linkages and Mechanical Controls (LMC TC). He has been involved as a researcher in 30 institutional projects at regional, national and European level. He has been involved in 25 research projects directly in cooperation with companies.
He has published 38 papers (31 JCR + 7 non-JCR) in international journals and 16 papers in Spanish journals. Also, he has been co-editor of 4 Springer books related to Robotics. He is co-author of 4 international patents. He has presented 73 communications in international and national congresses. He has been awarded with the IFToMM – LMC TC Service Award 2015, the Bronze Best Application Paper Award MEDER 2018, the EUCOMES 2012 Best Student Paper Award Finalist and the 2010 and 2016 Best Research Paper Award of the Spanish Association of Mechanical Engineering AEIM.
