ZientziaAstea. UPV/EHU in the sea

The weeks prior to Zientzia Astea, in particular from October 16 to November 4, the SEA will flood the rooms of the Bizkaia Aretoa-UPV / EHU, in Bilbao. A series of activities will allow you to discover, in a very interactive, fun and visual way, different aspects of marine biology, the consequences of pollution in life at sea, marine renewable energy and navigation.

Exposition

On the first floor of the Bizkaia Aretoa-UPV / EHU you will find an exhibition with reproductions of large-scale marine animals, scale models of different marine renewable energy devices, a navigation simulator… and many other things.

Time schedule

Monday to Friday: 8:00-20:00
Saturdays: 10:00-14:00 and 16:00-20:00
Sundays and holidays: 10:00-14:00

Lectures

  • October 16,  19:00: “Nuevos retos energéticos: la energía de las olas”. Yago Torre-Enciso, Director of Biscay Marine Energy Platform, BiMEP.
  • October 23,  19:00: “La salud de los océanos, nuestro soporte vital en riesgo”. Mikel Becerro Garcia, Subdirector of Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Blanes (CSIC).
  • October 30, 19:00: “Expedición Antártica Pakea”. Unai Basurko, Director of Pakea.

* All lectures will be in Bizkaia Aretoa – UPV / EHU and will begin at 19:00. Free admission until full capacity is reached
