MaRINET2 – Providing support for offshore renewable energy developers and researchers

Marinet2 fourth call for applications now open!

MaRINET2 offers free-of-charge access to world-class marine renewable energy testing facilities throughout Europe. The 4rd call for applications for Transnational Access to these test facilities is open from 15 Aug 2019 to 30 Sep 2019. Granted applications will be able to access the facilities from 1 Jan 2020 to 30 Jun 2020.

TECNALIA offers two test facilities:

–       Tecnalia’s Component Corrosion Test Platform (HarshLab):  an advanced floating platform moored 1.7 miles away Armintza’s coast (Gulf of Biscay, Spain) designed for the evaluation of materials and components against corrosion, ageing and fouling phenomena in real offshore environment.

–       Tecnalia PTO Lab: a turbine emulator to reproduce the mechanical output of an ocean energy device/wind turbine. It consists of a HIL (Hardware in the Loop) test bench for grid connection of wind turbines and ocean energy converters, focused on testing electrical components and control laws.
